The Los Angeles Public Library, serving the largest population of any public library in the nation, possesses world-class collections housed in award-winning, architecturally notable buildings, but our greatest and most essential asset is our dedicated, hard-working staff. Their wisdom, creativity, empathy, and passion are on display every day in our Central Library and 72 branches. There is no library without them.
So it is with tremendous pride that we celebrate their artistic talents with a first ever exhibition. Artworks by 60 staff artists are on exhibit at five libraries. From watercolors to textiles and drawings to multimedia sculpture, the exhibition showcases the creative expression of our staff and reveals talents beyond those exercised in our libraries.
Please join me in enjoying their artwork, but more importantly, in thanking them for their commitment to serving Angelenos and visitors to the City of Angels every day with exceptional library collections, services, and programs.
